-I definitely don't care
-I definitely should because I'm a journalism major
-But I don't think I ever will
-At this point this should be it's own paragraph not a series of notes
-How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, always a good one and I never get tired saying it
-You know what song I never get tired of singing....
"In west Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days....
-I loved that show
-These blisters on my hand really hurt
-But at least there not on other parts of my body
-I wonder if anyone who reads this has had blisters on "other" parts of their bodies
-I wonder if I used the right there, they're or , their
-I most certaintly know I wasnt supposed to use they're, duh
-I should really brush up on my grammar
-And my math

-I think it is for some people
-They probably watch a lot of reality television too
-Well I think I'm done for now

I hope you enjoyed this brief glimpse into my world. I cheated a little bit. I didn't share EVERYTHING that popped into my head, mostly because some thoughts just shouldn't be shared. Maybe next time. Adios amigos and amigas. Which was wrong because that would just be amigos because most languages are male chauvanistic. I should probably learn to spell too. Later

What I'm looking forward too at the ACC tournament

I've been talking about doing this for years and now it's finally happening. I'm going to the ACC tournament. Even when I went to the beach two years ago (an amazing week btw for all those who were involved) I spent most of my time on a broken down futon watching college basketball conference tournaments. And you know finding that special someone....

Anyway, thanks too my good friend Daniel Brockman II, who is graciously funding this outing, I WILL be making the trip to Greensboro this year. This is a list of all the things I am looking forward to on this trip in no particular order.

- Watching my abysmal Tar Heels crap out in the first round against Georgia Tech. I mean seriously I finally decide to go and it's the year after one of the best four year runs in NCAA history capped off by a billion game losing streak in the middle of the season. Im exaggerating about the losing streak but only by a little.

-Watching my abysmal Tar Heels pull of the upset of the century and winning the whole damn thing. This will happen. You heard it hear first. Yes, I may be a little bit of a wishful thinker but for the money I'm paying I will slap Larry Drew in the face if they don't win at least one game.

- Telling Greivas Vasquez he stole my frohawk in person. Seriously, mine grows naturally and I've had it since the sixth grade. Just another reason to hate Vasquez, he's a gelled up hair do stealer. Eff that guy.

- Secretly rooting for Maryland. I've been telling people for years the best basketball players come from Maryland. Keving Durant and Michael Beasely played on the same AAU team. Need I say more.

-Trying to figure out who has more cockroaches, the motel I'm staying in or my house I pay rent for. In my defense I live next to a river. It'll still be a good competition.

-Listening to stupid music. Daniel's a sucker for pop radio music so I'm sure Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift will be played at some point. I may enjoy this more than I let on although I still think people get a little dumber every time that Keisha (sp) song comes on the radio.

- 5 hour energy drinks and caffeine pills. Leaving Greenville at 7 AM on Thursday, getting to Greensboro around 11 AM (assuming traffic is ok) , watching basketball from noon to around midnight, going back to the hotel, waking up at 10 AM, drive to the arena, watch basketball from noon to midnight again, get in car and drive home, arrive home around 3 AM Saturday morning. This may be where I finally experiment with cocaine.

-Random events that always seem to happen on trips like these. I don't know whats going to happen but something always happens when I'm involved with long trips and vehicles. Hopefully we can be police free this weekend.

My first sports blog...you knew it was coming

So this is my second venture in the world of craig/alex/sunshine/a lot of other nicknames I have had over the years. Anyway, lets talk about a couple of sports stories real quick.

First off, Big Ben of the Pittsburgh Steelers is at it again. No, not winning Super Bowls but instead getting accused of a sexual assault. You may have heard recently that he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Georgia earlier this week but you may not have heard of the sexual assault accusation made against him some time last year. That accusation went widely untalked about or rather not as talked about as it should have been.

That's two accusations in the span of less than two years. Now I and most of you have managed to go our entire lives without ever been accused of such a heinous act yet he's managed to get the same charge in the same amount of time. Granted he is famous and with fame can come people out to take advantage and make a quick buck but you have to wonder don't you. Is this a coincendence or is there some fire where there is smoke. Only time will tell and I would hope the public will reserve judegement until all the facts have come out. See the Duke case for an example where the court of public opinion was way off.

Another story that just came out is Allen Iverson's personal issues. Apparently Iverson struggles with alcohol and gambling, issues he's evidently been struggling with for years. On top of those issues Iverson also had his wife file for divorce on the same day he announced he would not be playing basketball for the remainder of the season to take care of his sick daughter. All of this comes after Iverson announced his brief retirement from the league after his failed commitment with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the season.

Iverson has been one of the most polarizing figures in the NBA for a long time. He dazzles fans on the court with crazy crossovers and unimaginable fade aways but off the court he may have never been fully accepted. He was a rogue before it was realized there was nothing wrong with what he was. If Iverson entered the league today he would be no where near as scrutinized as he was when he was drafted first overall by the sixers. Today's superstars come pre-packaged with problems but so does everyone else in society. We all have baggage.

But Iverson came into the league after the savior era of Jordan, Bird, and Magic, a time when the league was just leaving the golden era. The 80's were when the league was able to rid itself of its drug infested, me-first 70's era and the league had no intentions of returning to that mindset in the 90's.

Enter AI. A tattoed, corn row wearing hoopster accused of starting a riot in high school. The league wasn't ready for Iverson and quite frankly Iverson wasn't ready for the league. He played with a toughness that only comes when you play with a chip on your shoulder and with the microscope always on him that was a big chip.

Now it appears Iverson has gambled away his future and may be drinking his health away with it. He's made over $200 million in his career but reports are that is all gone with no future paychecks in site. Roethelsberger hasn't been convicted of anything but with his latest accusations one would have to think his career could be in peril too. NFL commisioner Roger Goodell probably won't stand for one of his marqee players being accused of sexual assault every other week.

All of this comes on top of Tiger Woods' issues, Micheal Vick's dog fetish, and it makes you wonder why we devote so much time and energy to sports.

So this is what the weekend looks like?

It's 2:30 in the morning and I just spent the past 48 hours free of work. In case you don't know me, and why would you be reading this if you don't, I work at O' Charley's. I hate my job. I loathe it. It sucks the life out of me while I'm there and when I have days off I spend them on my ass thinking about how much my job sucks. Depressing I know. Sad, but true. That's neither here nor there, and I'm not here to bitch (yes I know, I am bitching).

The point is I didn't have an obligation to work these past two days nor do I have to work this upcoming week and weekend. And quite honestly I don't know how to handle it. The past year or so I've been trying to find a balance in my life. I'm trying to figure out how to work full time, support myself, go to school, get reasonably good grades, and just basically survive until I graduate and find a real job.

So I've taken it upon myself to have fun this weekend. A daunting task I know. I went to dinner and a movie last night with my beautiful girlfriend Brittany (went to Finelli's, awesome, saw The Crazies, incredibly stupid). And today I went to a baseball game with Daniel Brockman and Brittany then came home and watched UNC get shellacked by Duke (Shaking My Damn Head). Later this week, me and Daniel are heading to Greensboro for the ACC tournament.

So hopefully this week I can reboot and regroup. Hopefully this break will allow me to recharge my batteries. I hope so. Until next time....

PS....hopefully next time I won't bitch as much
